The John Paul II Foundation for the Sahel is an institution of the Catholic Church, that came to the light of day on February 22, 1984 in the State of the Vatican City where it is headquartered. It is managed by the churches of the Sahel through a Governing Board based in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). The John Paul II Foundation fights against desertification ant its causes and provides assistance to victims of drought.
